Hello – This is David, Quick from Total Cover IT®, and today we are going to talk about bundled software, that’s, bundled software.
This is software that typically gets included.
For example, when you buy a new pc or a new tablet, or new smartphone manufacturer, get paid to add these software packages to your system now, this may be potentially detrimental to your computer, your mobile device, because for one thing you may not need it, and yet it, takes up space on your system.
It may be using resources, so it’s slowing you down.
It could be a potential vulnerability as well.
Also, it’s another batch of software applications that you need to make sure is updated because it could be vulnerabilities that could potentially compromise the system.
So what do you do about this when you buy a new computer or a new mobile device? Take an assessment of what apps are on that device and remove anything that you don’t need and only have those programs that you actively use on a day-to-day basis.
You can always add more later, but let’s start with what exactly you need for your day-to-day activity.
This will give you a better performing system. It takes up less space and it’ll be more secure because you’ll have less software that you have to maintain and update.
